Open Venues BK is a weeklong opportunity for New Yorkers to tour prospective venues for holiday parties, birthday parties, weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, quinceañeras, Sweet 16s, retirement parties, conferences, and any other affair you want to celebrate in Brooklyn.
Open Venues BK takes place March 22-29, and all tours are free to attend. Following are some striking spots to tie the knot or host your gathering this spring.
Weylin B. Seymour’s (Williamsburg)
This gorgeous venue is located inside the dome of the former Williamsburgh Savings Bank headquarters at Broadway and Driggs Avenue. Its architectural details of this versatile, modern event space have been meticulously restored, and the high ceilings give any event a sense of grandeur.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden (Crown Heights)
Brooklyn Botanic Garden has a number of indoor and outdoor locations for ceremonies and cocktail parties. Probably the most popular reception venue is the glass Palm House, looking out onto the Lily Pond Terrace. Spaces hold up to 275 people, and BBG provides an in-house catering service.

The owners of Home/Made, a popular Red Hook restaurant, are behind this 2,500-square-foot community space and event venue. It’s a charming, homey location ideal for small weddings, performances, fundraisers and private parties. It can hold up to 75 people.

This 3,200-square-foot venue in a renovated Brooklyn warehouse is distinguished by pre-war details, hardwood floors, high ceilings, exposed brick, wood beams, and large windows. It’s an impressive setting for a fashion show, live performance, conference meeting, or wedding.

This former synagogue has been transformed into a three-story event space with an intimate loft space, a “sanctuary” lounge and an underground cellar. These spaces will accommodate formal, sit-down occasions or more casual parties. Deity provides in-house event planning, catering, and entertainment.

The Water Table (Greenpoint)
An event out at sea? Why not! The Water Table is a former World War II Navy Boat renovated into a New England-inspired restaurant. The boat can be booked for a variety of events such as rehearsal dinners, parties, and corporate events. What could be more memorable than a party that departs Greenpoint to travel around the island of Manhattan? The Water Table accommodates up to 45 people.

Gargiulo’s Restaurant (Coney Island)
Gargiulo’s — a historic venue that opened in 1907 — is a great spot for a formal event in an old-school setting. Tuxedoed waiters serve classic Italian fare in the banquet hall setup. The owners cater to all types of parties and social gatherings from 40 to 400 people.
