A Brooklynite’s June Guide

Prepare yourself for summer by staying in the sun with five amazing, creative, and crazy events that will take place in Brooklyn this month. Start the week with a few ongoing festivals, head to a race, and dance the day away at a parade.

Brooklyn has always been active borough with never-ending events, so join other Brooklynites as they hop from one event to the other, all while taking your mind, body and tastebuds on a true Brooklyn trip!

Don’t forget that Father’s Day is right around the corner (June 18), so take your dad out to one of these great events.

1.Coney Island Mermaid Parade

Gather your costumes and hop on to the train bound to Coney Island on June 17 to see the annual Mermaid Parade. The  35th Annual Mermaid Parade on Saturday is in celebration of ancient mythology, showcasing over 3,000 creative individuals from all over the five boroughs. Come and be a part of the mythical parade that only happens once a year! We recommend public transportation because of street closures and limited parking.

So before you go to Coney Island with your grittery mermaid and sea creature costumes, make sure to plan your trip accordingly, because you don’t want to miss all the fun, right?
