Happy National Read a Book Day!

On September 6, the love of reading will be celebrated on #NationalReadaBookDay. This year, we teamed up with our friends at the Brooklyn Book Festival, for a fun social media contest for next week’s exciting event!

Whether you love reading in Brooklyn parks, cafés, rooftops, on the subway, or by the river, we want to see your favorite book nooks! Share your photograph, video or GIF with us on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, but remember to tag Explore Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Book Festival, and use #NationalReadaBookDay to enter. The best submission and explanation of why you love to read in your Brooklyn spot will win!

We will surprise two winners with Brooklyn Book Festival and Explore Brooklyn goodie bags – including a mystery book!

The Brooklyn Book Festival will take place at various locations from September 11-17. Children’s Day kicks off September 16, proceeding with the main Brooklyn Book Festival Day at Brooklyn Borough Hall on September 17, where you can enjoy the flagship 14-stage free literary event with over 300 participating writers and reading and creative performances. For the festival schedule and locations, please visit the Brooklyn Book Festival website.
