A Letter to our Community Dear Friends and Family, For the past five years Bed-Stuy Fresh and Local has been my life. It's been my teacher. It's been my community. It's the biggest thing I've ever done and so I am sad to announce to you today that Sheila and I will be stepping away from Bed-Stuy Fresh and Local. The Tide of Life can be a powerful force and you can't always swim against it. Family calls and we will be relocating to Seattle for the winter to be with family and nurture our child. I am going to miss walking to the store every day, talking with customers, watching your own families grow and really just engaging with my community every day in a real and tangible way. The good news is we are not closing, but Evolving and leaving you in good hands. Three local operations will be taking over the space. Jules, our longtime employee and partner is going to continue operating in the space as Arcadian Pastures, bringing you quality meats from upstate as well as seasonal produce and bulk goods and every day basics. And you may have already noticed that Bed-Stuy favorites Bread Love have reopened in the back of the shop and are doing their thing, serving up great coffee and baking and cooking up lovely treats. Lastly, Brooklyn Packers, a local co-packing operation will also be operating out of the space offering a CSA service as well as packaged goods. I am sad to leave the shop and the community it has fostered but I am happy that it is not closing. Rather it is evolving into something that continues to offer good vibes, good food and community. -Dylan and Sheila
