South Williamsburg

This home to New York’s Satmar Hasidic population is changing as new condos attract new neighbors.

Where (North) Williamsburg is a mecca for young sophisticates, South Williamsburg is a more residential neighborhood, primarily defined by its Spanish and Satmar Hasidic populations. Along its quieter streets you’ll find shops, cafes, restaurants and new condo developments, as gentrification spreads south from North Williamsburg.
