Springtime Brooklyn Brunch Guide

For many, brunching on a Sunday is something to look forward to all weekend. It’s the last hoorah before the Monday blues set in.

New York City is a place with endless brunch possibilities. However, if you’re having trouble getting into your favorite Manhattan brunch spot, why not try something new and head to the most popular borough: Brooklyn! Here is a list of our favorite brunch spots to try this Spring.

LOOSIE’S CAFE

Loosie’s Cafe: 93 S 6th St Brooklyn NY
Early happy hour? Let’s be honest — we all enjoy a good cocktail with our brunch. This New Orleans-inspired location has some of the best soul food options for a great weekend mid-morning meal. Creole shrimp and grits anyone? Eat this dish while sitting in one of their vintage bathtubs — do it for the gram!

Speaking of Instagram, for you social media lovers out there who enjoy documenting your food and location, this is the spot for you. It has a whimsical feel and is definitely picture-worthy.

EGG SHOP

Egg Shop: 138 N 8th St. Brooklyn NY
This trendy “egg-centric” restaurant was created by a husband and wife duo, Sarah Schneider and Demetri Makoulis. They realized that an egg is extremely versatile and wanted to create a shop where their menu had infinite egg dishes. If you’re someone who loves a good egg sandwich, this spot is for you!

The space is bright — white like an egg — and has a fully stocked bar. Enjoy a refreshing cocktail along with an incredible selection of organic wines. This is another spot that is definitely Instagram-worthy!

SISTERS

Sisters: 900 Fulton St. Brooklyn NY
Saturday and Sunday brunch? You mean we don’t have to wait until Sunday to get our brunch fix!? There’s an emphasis on sustainability here at Sisters. They buy locally and use only farm fresh products. Fan favorite menu options include the Smoked Salmon, French Toast, and Frittata. Don’t worry — they have a great cocktail selection, too. “Mother Have Mercy” sounds delicious, in our humble opinion.

Sisters is another Insta-worthy spot. Its adorable atmosphere is the perfect place for a group photo with your favorite brunch crew, so don’t forget that selfie stick!

SWEET CHICK

Sweet Chick: 164 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn NY
Sweet Chick’s philosophy is simple: “Great food, a cool vibe, and interesting cocktails at a great price.” Its all-American cuisine with a Southern touch is everything you need for a Sunday brunch filled with your favorite comfort foods, like cocktails, chicken and waffles, and homemade desserts. Also, the locations are very inviting. It’s the perfect spot to spend with your closest friends reliving your weekend.

GRAND ARMY

Grand Army: 336 State St Brooklyn NY
They call it “brunch on steroids.” For you Bloody Mary lovers out there, this isn’t a spot to miss. Have you ever heard of a Bloody Mary platter? What does a Bloody Mary platter consist of you ask? Well, at Grand Army, it consists of two house bloody’s, a two-tier tower of bivalves, shrimp cocktail, king crab, deviled eggs, and veggies. Yumm! That sounds like a great way to start a Sunday Funday to us.

And don’t let your Sunday Funday end there! Check out events that are happening in NYC to keep the weekend going for as long as possible. Here are a couple we suggest:

  • March 11 @ 5:00 PM(Boris & Horton, NY) — Paint Your Own Pet Party-Sunday Funday with your dog
  • March 25 @ 11:00 AM (Brooklyn, NY) — Sunday Coffee Cupping
  • April 8 @ 11:00 AM (Brooklyn, NY) — Bloody Mary Festival
