NEIGHBORHOOD GUIDE

Canarsie

A waterfront neighborhood that feels more Long Island than Brooklyn.

This working-class neighborhood, with its detached houses and well-kept lawns, is located right along Brooklyn’s south shore. Canarsie Park is a gorgeous spot right along the waterfront, where local kids gather to play on the large ballfields, and Canarsie Pier offers playgrounds, fishing spots, and beautiful views. Right along the neighborhood’s L train stop (it’s one of the very last stops along the L), Canarsie has a bustling shopping district with Caribbean businesses and restaurants.
