NEIGHBORHOOD GUIDE

Kensington

This family-friendly neighborhood is home to Brooklyn’s only horse stable.

This quiet residential neighborhood is primarily known for two things: its proximity to Prospect Park and its horse stables. Visitors often rent horses from the Kensington Stables to take a ride through the park.Kensington’s main streets are relatively quiet, consisting mostly of bagel cafes and bodegas. As for the nightlife scene, there are two favorite dive bars in the neighborhood: Denny’s Steak Pub (which does not serve steak) and Shenanigan’s. Photo courtesy of Rose White via Flickr.
