A diverse neighborhood with great food and great views.
With both a thriving Asian and Spanish population, Sunset Park is one of Brooklyn’s great unsung food destinations. This neighborhood actually boasts a Chinatown that spans more than 20 blocks and easily rivals the one in Manhattan. Brooklynites make pilgrimages here to eat at the dim sum restaurants. There are also excellent (and cheap!) Spanish restaurants. After a day of eating, head to the very top of Sunset Park (where the neighborhood gets its name) for incredible views of Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, and the rest of Brooklyn. The Sunset Park waterfront, lined with hulking warehouses, also offers great views of the harbor. Photo courtesy of Victoria Belanger via Flickr.
