SANKOFA ABAN B&B is an 1880’s 4-story brownstone townhouse on a historic tree-lined block lined with dozens of other 19th-century row-houses. On this quiet street, notice the stained glass transom windows and then walk up the classic Brooklyn stoop leading to the magnificent parlor floor. Inside you’ll see original woodwork, decorative plaster moldings, elaborate “wedding cake icing” details on the walls and wonderfully restored original wood plank floors.
The front parlor looks out on Macon Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant and features the most amazing fireplace mantel (one of six that are original to the house), antique mirrors and room for a party, a wedding and of course, BrownstoneJazz!
The rear parlor features Victorian seating for a rest from your travels or an evening out. A place where you can sip wine, read a book or just conversate while looking out over the sun-drenched garden.
