Grady’s started as a recipe. Ground coffee. Water. A little bit of secret sauce. Steeped overnight. At first we tried to convince people to make it for themselves, until we realized that actually, we wanted to make it for everyone instead. It was important to us that we made something that was not just delicious, but free of sugars and preservatives—not to mention convenient and portable.
So we started brewing batches in our kitchens and selling out at Smorgasburg on the weekends until we wised up and got a 600-ft commercial space. We outgrew that in a hurry and opened our 6,000 ft space in Greenpoint, and then moved on up to our new 15,000 ft space in the Bronx—where we created our own brewing and bottling system, to make sure we kept our impeccable standards the same as we grow in volume.
It’s been a humbling experience to receive the outpouring of support we have gotten locally, nationally, and internationally. We are proud of everything we’ve created, and can’t wait to see what comes next.
